Clinton Central School proudly educates and empowers students to realize their potential and become thoughtful, contributing members of society.

4. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

The Board encourages public participation on school related matters at Board meetings. To allow for this, a period of not more than 30 minutes shall be set aside at each Board meeting. Speakers shall limit their comments to no more than 5 minutes. The Board will not permit, in public session, discussion involving District personnel or students. All speakers are to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Questions and comments from the public concerning matters which are not on the agenda will be taken under consideration and referred to the Superintendent for appropriate action. If the Board considers a topic extraordinary and requires a discussion taking longer than 30 minutes, the Board will consider designating a separate forum dedicated to that topic.

7. NEW BUSINESS

A. COOPERATIVE BIDDING RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, it is the plan of a number of PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS and the MADISON-ONEIDA BOCES (the “BOCES”) during the 2015-2016 school year to bid jointly for the purchase of various types of computers and technology commodities (the “Commodities”); and

WHEREAS, the Clinton Central School District (“the School District”) is desirous of participating in the joint bidding of the Commodities, as authorized by General Municipal Law, Article 5-G; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Education has received and reviewed the Cooperative Bid Procedures (“the Procedures”) governing its right and responsibilities should it elect to participate in the joint bidding of commodities; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in accordance with Cooperative Bid Procedures the Board of Education agrees to award bid purchase item purchases according to the recommendation of the BOCES if such award is in the best interest of the school district.

B. BE IT RESOLVED that the contract between Clinton Central Schools and the Oneida City School District in the amount of $479.20 for Health and Welfare Services provided for two students who are Clinton residents attending St. Patrick’s School or Holy Cross Academy for the 2014-2015 school year, be approved. Health Services Agreement                                                                         

8. OTHER

A. BE IT RESOLVED, that the last day of personal voter registration for the vote of May 19, 2015 at Clinton Central School will take place in the Superintendent’s Office between the hours of
8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Voters registered with the County Board of Elections are eligible to vote in the school district referendum.

The Board of Registration consists of the following qualified voters: Gil Palladino, Pat Palladino and Karen Mair.

9. PUBLIC TO BE HEARD

10. PERSONNEL

A. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the unpaid internship in the area of psychology for Clarissa Bosco, Georgia State University graduate student, beginning September 2, 2015 through May 20, 2016, pending fingerprint clearance, be approved. (Exhibit # 6)

NOTE: Ms. Bosco would work under the shared supervision of Caterina Kernan, Monica Moshier and Kathy Fonda.

B. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the appointment of Laura Pominville to the position of long term substitute elementary teacher, at step 1MA, in accordance with the current CTA agreement, effective April 27, 2015 through approximately May 30, 2015, be approved.           (Exhibit #7)

NOTE: Ms. Pominville will be assuming the duties of Jody Chandler who will be on medical leave.

C. BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the following fall coaching appointments for the 2015-2016 school year, to be compensated in accordance with Article 14 of the CTA contract, pending fingerprint clearance, be approved.                 (Exhibit #8)
